Ski Dubai at Emirates Mall
Skiing in the desert? Where else but in Dubai? The city’s most incongruous attraction, Ski Dubai, is a faux winter wonderland built right into the gargantuan Mall of the Emirates.
The longest of the five runs is 400m and there’s even a ‘black diamond’ run for daredevils, and jumps and rails for borders.
Novices and kids will enjoy the snow park for its colour-lit igloo and tobogganing hill.
The chemical-free snow is generated by snow guns at night and is surprisingly velvety. Admission includes all gear except for gloves and hats (for hygiene reasons); these are available for sale (gloves start around Dh10, hats Dh30).
